Susan Alice Allen, 62, of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Ashtabula County Medical Center. Born October 10, 1959, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Arthur W. Allen and Alice R. (Clark) Allen. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Jefferson High School Class of 1978. Susie had a love for cars, she worked with cars most of her career; selling them, detailing them, and most of all she enjoyed learning about them. She was always the one family would call when they had issues with their cars. Susie enjoyed target shooting and collecting guns. She loved music and was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing the keyboard and organ. Over the years Susie rescued many animals, cats and dogs were her favorite, she gave them a loving and safe home. Susie was a patriotic person and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ. Susie had a contagious smile and a passionate and determined personality. One who was always looking out for and helping others, she was honor to spend those last few years caring for her mother. She will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories is her mother, Alice; siblings, Joel A. Allen (Gaye), Thomas L. Allen (Susan); Kathleen A. Allen (Dale), James A. Allen (Bari); and her niece she was very close with Leanne Wofford; her cousin, David Laitinen who was special to her; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Susan was preceded in death by her father Arthur Allen; and cousins, Rick and Judy Laitinen, Lloyd Clark, Jim Mason, Jane Stoneman, and Janice Crabtree; and several aunts and uncles she adored. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 1PM at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with Pastor Mark Hostetler of the Eagleville Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow at Dorset Cemetery.
