Obituary of Terry Benson, Jr.

Terry William Benson, Jr., 47, of Plymouth Township died tragically Friday, September 28, 2018 at Ashtabula County Medical Center.

He was born in Madison Ohio on August 4, 1971 to Cindy and Terry W. Benson, Sr.

He attended Madison and Geneva High Schools and graduated from Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School's auto mechanics class in 1989.

Out of high school he worked for Marcy's Chevrolet and Classic as an ASE certified mechanic. He owned a Snap-On Tools franchise from April 1993 until he switched to a Matco Tools franchise running two trucks until 2000. He started TW Benson Enterprises in 1996 when he purchased his first rental property. He also started TW Benson Trucking, Inc. in 2000 and worked alongside his son Terry. He became quite the entrepreneur and respected business man.

Terry is survived by children who were his pride and joy, Leigha and Terry W. Benson, III of Ashtabula; Michael Pendergast, whom he had raised since age two; mother Cindy (John Caudill) Benson of Mentor; brother Jason Benson of Salt Lake City Utah; mother of his children, Dawn Benson, whom he had been married to for 20 years; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

Terry was preceded in death by father Terry Sr.; and brother, Michael who both passed in 2010.

To his death he was said to have a big heart and was always willing to help others.

Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, where services will follow at 8:00 PM.

A gathering following the service will take place at the Geneva FOE Lodge #2243, 120 Depot St., Geneva, Ohio, 44041.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to his children.
