Marlene Deluia-Lewis

Obituary of Marlene Elizabeth Deluia-Lewis

Marlene (Jagielski) Deluia, age 73, passed away Sunday morning, Oct 17, 2021, after a long battle with early-onset dementia. Marlene was born on February 27, 1948, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Yanacha) Jagielski in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Chartier's Valley High School, she moved to Ashtabula, where she married the love of her life, Nick Deluia. She attended Kent State Ashtabula, where she earned her nursing degree. Marlene's two passions in life were her patients and her family. Marlene spent a significant amount of her nursing career as a home health nurse. She truly loved her patients and would go above and beyond to help them in any way she could. On her days off, she could often be found bringing a patient groceries, clothes, or stopping over to help them with housework. Marlene's family meant the world to her, and they were her top priority. She was always there for them when they needed her. She loved spending time with her family. If you weren't sure where to find Marlene, she was probably out to lunch with her daughter Kara, shopping with her granddaughter Sara, or out to dinner with her sister Joanne and niece Chrissy. Regardless of where you found her, she was sure to be with her family. Marlene leaves behind her daughter, Kara (Bob) Turner; her granddaughter, Sara Turner; her sister, Joanne (Tom) Congdon; stepdaughters, Nicole Smith and Lynette Seebeck; her niece, Chrissy (Jessie) Treadway; and her nephew, Tom (Bekki) Congdon. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Nick Deluia; daughter, Melanie Deluia, and her parents. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 7:00PM at Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Calling hours will be on Friday from 6 until the time of service at 7PM. A private service will be held at St Joseph Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Nick and daughter Melanie. Her family would like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and for those who have reached out to share their wonderful memories of Marlene. She will be deeply missed.
