Mark D. Gammon ASHTABULA -Mark Dale Gammon, 62, went to be with our Lord May 11, 2022. Mark was born in Landstuhl Army Hospital in Germany on November 29, 1959, to Donald E. and Doris J. Gammon. While in Jefferson Mark would serve his community as a volunteer firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician as part of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department. Mark was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Warren Ohio where he served as a Deacon, Elder and the Property Committee Chairman. Mark had a passion for helping people and being part of their lives. He especially liked helping young people and had an affinity for the youth. Throughout his life he would “adopt” youngsters as his “grandchildren” and loved every one of them. Mark was an avid baker; he was known for making dozens of pies at a time for church bake sales. He loved to fish, and the fish loved him, because he never caught any of them. Mark enjoyed wood working, diamond point artwork, and music. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. Mark married Deborah Michaels in 1981 with who he parented stepchildren Larry and Charlene Michaels. He would later remarry to Laurie Kelly with whom he had a son Aaron M. Gammon. His children and grandchildren were the love of his life.
