Obituary of Sandra "Red Wolf" Stamper - Smith

Sandra “Red Wolf” Stamper-Smith ASHTABULA -Sandra “Red Wolf” Stamper -Smith, 77 passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at U.H. Cleveland after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Henry Clay and Ruby(Adams) Stamper, Sandi was born on August 1, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She had moved to the Ashtabula area in 2001 and found her place among the Lenape Tribe of Ashtabula County. Sandi was proud of her Native American heritage and shared the history of the United Eastern Lenape Nation to many people of the Ashtabula area and beyond. Sandi was a woman of many talents and interests, she received her BS in Sociology from Kent State. Sandi encouraged her children and grandchildren to give of their best in all that they did. She was so very proud of their many accomplishments. Sandi is survived by her children, Douglas and Martina Singleton, Donald and Brenda Singleton, Denise and DJ Vanpelt; grandchildren , Christine, Tamara, D.J., Samantha, Robbie and Cassandra; nine great grandchildren sister, Diane Stamper; nieces and nephews. Sandi was preceded in death by her son, William Clay Singleton, siblings, Melvin Stamper, Lenora Gay Stamper, and Brenda Stamper and her parents. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 13, 2022, at 2PM at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue Ashtabula, Ohio. Eulogy will be delivered by her son, Douglas Singleton and family members. Quiet Wolf and family members will deliver Traditional Native American Prayer and Healing Service. Calling hours will be observed from 12-2PM at the funeral home Monday June 13, 2022.
