Obituary of Deborah Sue Smith

Deborah Sue “Debbie” Smith, 69, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born August 6, 1952, in Ashtabula the daughter of the late John and June (McKim) Misinec. A lifelong area resident she graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1970. She received her LPN certificate in 1998 from the Knoedler School of Nursing at the Ashtabula Joint Vocational School. Debbie married the love of her life Jerry Smith on August 28, 1971. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing and crafting, traveling with her husband and family vacations with her children. Debbie also enjoyed hosting parties for her family and friends. Most of all, she enjoyed the memories that were made and the time she spent with all of them Debbie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry; children, Prudence Mason, Greg (Jennifer) Smith, Michelle Smith, Danielle Pape, and Jennifer (Andy) Koski; siblings, Ron (Sue) Misinec, Sharon Ray, Cindy Sullivan, and Tom (Debbie) Misinec; grandchildren, Josie, Cody, and Justin Mason, Jereme and Brandon Smith, Courtney Cardona, Jordan Fleming, Michael Pape, Bryce and Quinn Koski; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Misinec and her parents. A private memorial service will be held for the family. A celebration of her life will be held on August 6, 2022, at 5835 Washington Blvd., Ashtabula from 12-5PM.
