Robert Arthur Plankel, 84, passed away on August 18, 2022, in Jefferson. He was born on December 26, 1937, in Cleveland to Arthur and Deece (House) Plankel.
Bob had served in the National Guard during the Korean War, being stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. He worked in the transportation department for Cleveland Electric Illuminating for many years before taking an early retirement.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA. Bob was also an expert trap shooter and professional archery champion. He enjoyed building and flying remote planes and making his own knives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Terry; and his sister Louise Pelich.
Bob is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Dorothy (Ford); his son, Gary (Shelli) Plankel; his daughter, Dee Dee (Dale) Wentink; his grandson, Jason Wentink; and great grandchildren. Bob will be missed by many friends.
