Obituary of Emily J. Harley

Emily J. (Rebera) Harley, 71, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
A resident of Ashtabula County all her life, Emily was born September 3, 1951, a daughter of the late Anthony and Emma (Nalepa) Rebera. She graduated from Edgewood High School in 1969. Emily was a member of Our Lady of Peace - St. Joseph Church. Involved in the community in many ways, Emily was an election board poll worker for Ashtabula Township, secretary for I W Supply, PTO President of Ridgeview School, and a sub-secretary for Buckeye Local Schools.
Emily cherished spending time with her family, especially baking with granddaughter, Hannah, sharing jokes with grandson, Luke, and attending their dance and sporting events. She enjoyed the wildlife in her backyard at Paradise Acres with Walt. Her pastimes included reading, collecting Beanie Babies, watching the Cleveland Indians, making no-sew blankets, and decorating for the holidays.
She is survived by her son, Tony (Michele Abraham) Harley of Canton, OH and stepdaughter, Janis Hall; sisters, Renee (Jeff) Runyan of Newark, OH, and Pam Burke of Florida; grandchildren, Hannah Rose and Luke Anthony Harley; her caring companion, Walt Robertson; nieces and nephews, Lesley (Matthew) Hess, Major Alex (Megan) Runyan, Zachery Burke.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Harley; nephew, ILT Michael L Runyan.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 11AM at St. Joseph Church, 3312 Lake Ave., Ashtabula. Concelebrants, Rev. Raymond Thomas and Rev. Edward Gretchko, retired priest of St. Mary’s Parish in Madison, will preside.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 6PM-8PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road Ashtabula.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Michael L. Runyan Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Ashland County Community Foundation, 300 College Ave., Ashland, OH 44805
