Obituary of Barbara Barnard Carr

Barbara Barnard Carr, 60, of Ashtabula, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 surrounded by her two daughters. Born on May 9, 1962 in Conneaut, OH, to Walter and Joyce (Sack) Barnard, she was a lifelong area resident and a 1980 graduate of Edgewood Senior High School. Barb had a stellar work ethic and took pride in every position she held over the years. She was most recently employed at Saybrook Township as the Zoning Inspector. She thrived on taking opportunities to be involved in local organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, Insurance Women of Northeast Ohio, Eastern Star Orion Chapter #12, and the LEADERship Ashtabula Signature Program of which she was a 2011 graduate. Over the years, Barb cherished multiple trips to Florida and Disney World with her daughters. She also enjoyed the holiday tradition of going to the movies with them. Barb will be remembered for her outgoing personality and sense of humor. She loved spending time with friends while listening to local bands, bowling on league night, playing Bunco, and enjoying dinners with her “Buckeye Girls.” Barb treasured her friends and considered many to be part of the family. Barb is survived by her two daughters, Carrie (Adam) Brockway of Ashtabula, OH, and Shelly Carr of Huron, OH. Barb was preceded in death by her parents. Calling hours will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road Ashtabula. Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 Prospect Road Ashtabula.
