Obituary of Nellie Gallo

Nellie Gallo, 97, of Ashtabula passed away, Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at UH- Conneaut Medical Center. She was born September 11, 1925, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Steve and Anna (Abertac) Dorula. She married the love of her life Playford “PJ” Gallo on October 4, 1943. Over the years, Nellie worked in housekeeping departments for Ashtabula General, Ashtabula Mall and the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. Nellie enjoyed crafting, gardening, feeding the birds, going to the casino, watching football, and traveling with the senior center. But most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Playford in 1984; son, Ronald Gallo and his wife Marcia; sisters, Angeline, Annie, and Mary; brothers, Joseph, Walter, Frank and Stanley; and her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Gallo and Donna (Arthur) Lorelli; grandchildren, Christine (Joe) Jenkins, Randy (Jane) Gallo, Lance (Laura) Lorelli, Ryan Gallo, and Shawn Lorelli; and great-granddaughter, Sarah Gallo. At her request, private family services will be held and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
