Obituary of Chester Anthony Trebuchon

Chester Anthony Trebuchon, 83, of Ashtabula passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, at his daughter’s home. He was born on January 24, 1940, in Bergholz, Ohio, the son of Andrew and Helen (Lenceski) Trebuchon. He grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from Linesville High School in Linesville, PA, but lived most of his life in Ashtabula. An accomplished athlete in basketball and baseball, Chester tried out for the Pittsburgh Pirates after high school and was assigned to their minor league system, but instead decided to join the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served his country until being honorably discharged and always shared how proud he was to be a Marine. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he worked as a welder for Rockwell Brake Manufacturing for many years. He had an inspiring work ethic which carried over to every aspect of his life. A longtime member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Ashtabula Elks Club, Chester was a dedicated Cleveland Browns fan. He had a green thumb and was very mechanically inclined, gifted with being able to figure out and fix anything. An excellent carpenter, he learned the trade while serving in the Marines. His favorite food was a good hamburger, and he loved the BK double cheeseburger and watching TV sitcoms, with Frazier, Cheers, MASH, and Friends being some of his favorites. His hearty and contagious laugh was infectious, and he will always be remembered for his wonderful disposition, sense of humor, and kind and giving nature. He was incredibly generous and always going out of his way to help others. He will always be remembered as the best husband, dad, papa, and friend one could ever have. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Roxene (Stranahan) Trebuchon of Ashtabula, whom he married 9/23/1965; two daughters, Tracy (Sam) Martello of Westlake and Janine (Ben Pintabona) Trebuchon of Willoughby Hills; five grandchildren, Bryan “Bopper” and Shelby Wertz and Sam, Jack, and Grace Martello; his sister-in-law, Rita Trebuchon of Austinburg; his brother-in-law and “best buddy”, Rick (Gina) Stranahan; his niece, Sharon (Randy) Shymske; and nephews, Maurice (Sandi) Jr. and Matthew (Melissa), Drew (Tammie), and Mike Trebuchon. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Maurice Trebuchon; a sister-in-law, Patricia Trebuchon; and his parents. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at 10:30AM at Our Lady of Peace – St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula. Rev. Raymond Thomas will preside. Military honors will follow provided by the American Legion Dewey Howlett Post #103 Honor Guard. Friends may pay their respects to the family from 10AM until the time of service.
