Obituary of Minnie Patricia Lago

Minnie Patricia Lago, 99, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Jefferson Healthcare.
She was born on June 8, 1923, in Sheffield Township and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bruner) Dunick. Minnie went on to marry her husband, Robert Lago on November 13, 1944. He was a loving man, and a wonderful husband to Minnie during their 39 years of marriage until his passing in 1983.
Minnie worked with Reliance Electric until her retirement in 1988. She was talented at crocheting and was even the county fair winner. She also had a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved playing cards with friends. Minnie raised many poodles throughout the years. Her most recent dogs were Tisha and Holly who she loved very much. Minnie also enjoyed volunteering at many different organizations including being a clown for hospice of the Western Reserve and at ACMC. Minnie was extremely proud of her Catholicism and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
Minnie’s family would like to thank the staff at Jefferson Healthcare and Bella Hospice for their wonderful love and care towards Minnie during her time of need.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Ned) Roach of Conneaut, OH; her sister, Christina Lachey of Jefferson, OH; her grandchildren, Judy (John) Cassell of Midlothian, VA, Tom (John Hayes) Otto Jr. of Willoughby Hills, OH, Kathy (Wil Highland) Poplin of Stow, OH, and Bob Otto of Highland Heights, OH; great-grandchildren, Greg Poplin and Maddy (Mother Jody) Otto; and son-in-law John Banko.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lago; parents, John and Mary (Bruner) Dunick; daughter, Jeanette Banko; and brothers, Albert and Charles Dunick.
Private family services will be observed.
