Obituary of Joan (Hopkins) Butcher

ASHTABULA – Joan (Hopkins) Butcher,89, of Ogden Avenue passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at her home.
She was born January 15, 1934, in Huntington, WV, the daughter of the late Sol and Stella (Collins) Holland and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life.
On August 10, 1957, she married the love of her life, Richard Butcher.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Molded Fiberglass (MFG) and previously for Saris Bakery. She enjoyed her flower gardens, football, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her one son, Jack Hopkins of Geneva; two daughters, Roz (Bob) Poff of Jefferson and Drema (Jeff) Carrick of Ashtabula; 7 grandchildren, Tracie Palinkas, Rick Poff, Bev Burdette, Brianna Rockwell, Joeann Aviles, Michelle Mott, Kyle Butcher; 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Butcher on June 10, 2015; her son, Robert Butcher on February 22, 2021; granddaughter, Heather Love; grandson, Terry Dwayne Rodgers; three sisters, Becky Norris, Stella Schell, and Susie Spranger; four brothers, William, Jack, Vance, and Sol, Jr Holland; and her parents.
Private calling hours will be held for the family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 12:30PM at Mechanicsville Cemetery, 3930 Lampson Road, Geneva, OH 44041.
